New Moon in Libra / Mercury Rx back into Virgo

Updated: Sep 23, 2022

“Life is a balance between holding on and letting go” - Rumi.  While productivity took over during Virgo Season, Libra Season has arrived to work her magic of Balance. It’s no coincidence that in the midst of Mercury’s retrograde, the Sun slips into the Scales to even life out again. Libra is a very interesting Zodiac, it represents both the concepts of Balance and of Change. Libra has an affinity for honesty & justice; they are constantly seeking to Do and Be Better. Libra is skilled in comparative thinking, and for seeing things in relative terms instead of absolute truths. Libras are social, and excellent in themes of refinery & fulfillment (sometimes referred to as perfectionism). The poised shadow of Libra warns us of looking for “perfect” harmony, which can leave us riddled with feelings of unrest; seeking the unachievable. Staying stuck in indecision or unhappiness is a choice, and it’s a disempowering one. Libra is represented by the Scales, demonstrating the individual measurements of the weight of choices. The Fall Equinox taking place on the same day as Libra’s entrance is a foreshadowing of the need for acceptance of where we’re at - the days grow shorter, and an air of criticism doesn’t serve us anymore.  The Equinox is a day of inviting Balance & Harmony as the hours of lightness and darkness are equal. Libra Season seeks to bring peace, compromise, & harmony as we try to defuse situations with grace and charm over the next four weeks. Friday, September 23rd, moving back again into Virgo, Mercury Retrograde finds some comfort in its ruling sign, but can cause plenty of anxiety for us as we are trying to move away from being hyper-focused on flaws and the need for perfection. We can become super stressed out about the things we were already worried about, and we likely need to get some perspective, and take a break. These next two weeks can be a period of mediation and productivity, but only if we don't burn out in the process. The bright side of it all comes as a pair. Right before Mercury slips into Virgo, it will be Conjunct the Sun, called an inferior Conjunction. This is a positive point in the retrograde for starting something that can be a focus for the next 6-8 weeks; find where it falls in your chart, and that may be where you can find a new beginning. To help us see things clearly, strike balance back into our lives and assist the retrograde, on Sunday, September 25th, there’s a New moon in Libra while Venus in Virgo is trine Pluto in Capricorn. We can see a strong need for balance & harmony now. We desire to keep things nice rather than venturing into fundamental questions, in order not to disturb the peace. You must learn to share your good and bad feelings. Do not be afraid to be who you really are, despite what is expected of you. The New Moon will highlight themes commitment, relationships, partnerships & equality. We have a wonderful opportunity to invite in new professional, platonic and romantic connections. The surrounding week is a good time for winning people over as this influential aspect increases our charm, allowing us to get what we desire. As we anticipate the balancing of things, we still have to pay attention to work that needs to be done. Mercury will be retrograde at an anaretic degree when it moved back into Virgo, September 23rd to 24th. The anaretic degree has crisis energy in its transit, and may trigger important events & developments, energy may run high. Keep in mind that the retrograde ends (Oct 2nd) opposite Neptune in Pisces, and it can greatly drain our energy & focus as it concludes. It's vital to take breaks over the next two weeks to avoid that. This can also show issues with boundaries being broken, as well as the victim mindset taking over. Balance is something you Create.
