From now until October 2nd, we experience the third Mercury retrograde this year. This retrograde is in the Zodiac of Libra, bringing misunderstanding and emotional confusion to our relationships for the next three weeks. This is also interestingly, the third of four Mercury retrogrades in 2022, although the Fall 2022 Mercury retrograde is the year’s last full cycle. With this being the last Mercury retrograde in Libra for some time, we may see some of the issues that have come up in relationships & our dealings with others over the last 2-3 years reach a culmination or come to an end. If you have Mercury retrograde in your natal chart, you may not feel the worst of this. Those individuals generally don't experience the difficulties of the retrograde because it feels more natural to them. As the retrograde starts, one of the worst things you can do is try to be conflict averse. The very journey from Libra back to Virgo (Mercury changes zodiacs on the 23rd) reflects our ability to constructively utilize conflict as an opportunity for reformation — and to make new promises & appropriate commitments centred around who you are and who you want to be. If any relationship around this time falters or suffers, trust that the bond has served its ultimate purpose and left you with an opportunity to work on your own wrongdoings. In a lot of cases, the breaking down of a relationship presents an opportunity for individual healing. Use this time to explore what expression means to you, and how communication is an art form when expressed with integrity. When Mercury officially stations a direction the sky, this is called “the storm.” This takes place twice — when it turns retrograde and when it turns direct. Storm energy is extremely chaotic and confusing. It’s as if tons of cosmic dust has been thrown into the air and we can’t process anything that is happening. The storm periods this retrograde are September 2nd - 16th 2022, and September 28th - October 7th 2022. Though it’s a challenging retrograde, what’s presented between now and the 2nd of October can hold so much in regards to personal expression, open listening and transparency, autonomous decision making and proper collaborative effort. This weekend we also meet the Full Moon known as the annual Harvest Moon, due to its close proximity to the autumn equinox - it also is the last major lunation of the summer. Virgo Season puts focus on logical matters and makes us extra attentive to life’s practical details. As this Full Moon settles in the sky, we’ll be temporarily plunged deep into the ethereal world of your emotions. Pisces’ poetic and sensitive energy will amplify full moon feelings, making intuition just as important as observation, and making your most wild fantasies feel possible. However, it’s important not to get too carried away in your emotions. Neptune, the Planet of Dreams, will be in a conjunction with the Full Moon, so we should indulge in some daydreaming but monitor for paranoia and a lack of boundaries. Additionally, the erratic planet of Uranus will form a smooth Sextile to the Moon, inducing an element of surprise. Pay attention to your intuitive insights, you may channel some information that will nudge you in the right direction. “All progress comes from a brave decision”.
